Last month I showed how you can furnish your entire bedroom for under $500. Now, it’s time to furnish your living room with the same budget.
Unlike a bedroom, a living room really doesn’t have a prescribed list of “must have” items. A living room is more an expression of you and your lifestyle. Maybe your living room will be comfy and cozy, or a formal conversation spot or a retro cinema hangout. Ultimately, I assure you that you that it is possible to furnish your living room under $500. For the sake of this post, I will be doing a comfy, cozy living room that also doubles as a sleeping space for guests!
Couch: Solsta, IKEA, $180 (now on sale for $143)
A nice neutral couch for 2-3 that unfolds to make an extra sleeping space. The slate color is a lovely neutral that sets an air of relaxation for the room.
Armchair: Agen, IKEA, $60
An armchair for additional seating. A good spot for morning tea, a book, and chatting.
Coffee Table: Zenaida Coffee Table, Wayfair, $82 (now on sale for $66)
This coffee table provides effortless style and utility. Display your favorite books, photos and memorabilia, and leave the top open for food/drink.
Side Table: Stoneford End Table, Wayfair, $54
Set this table next to your new couch for easy to reach drinks and remotes. If this style is too basic for you, spice it up and add a layer of adhesive wallpaper on top for additional pattern.
Table Lamp: Gisele Gold Wash Lattice Column Lamp, $30
This is my personal choice for a classic, elegant lamp. If this does not float your boat, there are many other options available. Like to mix and match? Check out Target’s lighting department.
Floor Lamp: Hektar, IKEA, $50
IKEA’s Hektar lamp provides lots of lighting, and has a nice industrial feel to it.
Top your couch off with these accent pillows to add a vibrant pattern to the room. Accent pillows can be found at lots of great stores and are great hand-me-downs from family and friends.
And there you have it- a complete living room for $493! (Right now, as low as $440 with sales!)
