One of my favorite things is when I find that one of the places I like to visit has something even BETTER than what I already knew they had. Yeah, vague, I know, but hear me out. Like, for instance the deli across the street from my office: they have great salads, but OMG their blueberry muffins for $1.50 in the morning?! Incredible. Also, amazingly, only a quarter more than the bagel cart on the street.
Also, the Apartment Therapy website. I follow their universal blog and have poked around some of the different city blogs before. But, just recently, I noticed that Apartment Therapy has a completely separate section devoted entirely to sales happening in EACH city(New York, Chicago, LA, San Francisco etc). Not only is this updated weekly, but they have a really diverse selection. The New York one has everything from GreenJeans(environmentally friendly products) to a cool rocking chair by Mike Perry at the Giant Robot. This section also lists home and design stores by neighborhood, item, style, and material, and even function(like movers or organization).
No matter where you live, this is a site to be bookmarked!
P.S. To celebrate the first day of spring, here is a recipe for an amazing strawberry pie. Happy Springtime!
