Cleveland Park it is!

I went to check out the apartment in Cleveland Park the other day and fell in love with it. It’s located on a dead-end street, so it doesn’t have much traffic making it a slightly quieter area to live in—something I’m looking for. The place has two different buildings and I looked at an apartment in the north tower. The woman who showed me around was super nice and made sure that all of my questions were answered.

I was shown a 510 sq ft studio apartment. It was fixed up very nicely and I feel that if I get similar decorations, such as a partition to create a bedroom and living room, it will feel really homey. The kitchen was a bit smaller than I would have preferred, but everything else about the apartment was exactly what I was looking for. Especially the huge closet! No longer will I have to worry about where to put my shoes.

After checking out the apartment, the rental agent showed me around the rest of their facilities. There’s a laundry center on site with more than enough machines so that I don’t think I’d have to wait in line to wash my clothes. And only residents of the building can use the machines so it’s at least somewhat private. She also showed me a significantly large party room that can be reserved (free of charge) just in case I want to hold a raging party that’s too big for my own place.

The next stop on our tour was the health and fitness center. It was recently renovated and it looks fantastic. Not only are the cardio and weight machines brand new, there is also a sauna and a whirlpool, which they drain and refill every week (good thing…I’m a germaphobe!) The only thing that was missing were some tanning beds. But either way, it’s a really nice facility and would cut out the cost of a monthly gym membership.

After I was shown everything, I filled out the initial application and just sat back and waited. I eventually got a call saying I was accepted so I went to sign my lease. As of June 1st, I’ll have my own place. I cannot wait and hope it lives up to my expectations!

Good luck everyone else with finding a place!
